PRS Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 - 1992 - Cafe Wha? NYC House Guitar

Product Description

It was at the Cafe Wha? in New York City that young performers like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Woody Allen, Lenny Bruce, Bill Cosby, and Richard Pryor got early chances to hone their talents. Originally opened by Manny Roth in 1959, Cafe Wha? has housed some of the most famous musicians in the world. In 2012, David Lee Roth came back to play Cafe Wha?, which he had loved to visit as a 7-year-old, with Van Halen. It looked pretty much the same as he remembered it. “This is a temple,” he told the crowd. “This is a very special place, and I am more nervous about this gig than I would ever be at the Garden. There is no hiding up here. There are no fake vocals. There is no fake anything.”

That's very Rock and Rock there is no fake anything, and this PRS Custom 24 is as real as it gets. This was the house guitar at Cafe Wha? for heavy portion of the 1990's and 2000's. The amount of talent that has laid hands on this instrument is literally uncountable.

As to be expected, this guitar has seen heavy stage time, but this only adds to the true ambiance and aura of this piece of music history. All electronics function perfectly, and the guitar is broken in beautifully and sounds warm and fat.

Whether to be mounted on a wall and awed at, or played out (like we think it should be), this guitar truly truly truly captures a time in New York City music history and you can feel it as soon as you pick it up.

Monster Music has been in business for close to 30 years, so please bid and buy with confidence. If you have absolutely any questions at all about this guitar, please send us a message, we are always on!
